This FAQ explains why a gift subscription may not start immediately, and what to do if the recipient has not received their first issue or access.

Why hasn't my gift subscription started?
The recipient must claim their gift by clicking a link in an email from us. If the gift hasn't been claimed, the subscription will not start.
How do I claim a gift subscription?
Find the email from us and click the claim link. Follow the instructions to activate your subscription. Check spam or junk folders if you can't find the email.
What if the recipient didn't get the claim email?
If the email is missing, contact our Subscriptions Team to request a resend. Both giver and recipient can do this.
When will the first issue arrive after claiming?
Once claimed, the first issue usually arrives within 4 to 6 weeks for print, or immediately for digital access.
